Although born in Sussex, England, Richard grew up in Sydney, Australia, where he studied Visual Art. And this is where his passion for photography took root.

After moving to London in 1997, he initially worked in still-life before developing a love for the beauty and unpredictability of fashion. He has worked for various magazines, newspapers and commercial clients.

Away from fashion Richard likes to view the world in a less controlled way – creating images of the simple and often overlooked and unobserved parts of our lives. In 2009 his exhibition of portraits and interviews from Church Street, Stoke Newington, explored the changing flux within his community and its history. The constant change in the everyday, and the unobserved beauty in older buildings and everyday objects are themes which he has explored in his other on going projects.
