Richard Nolan-Neylan: Church Street

These portraits were taken over a 2-year period and culminated in an exhibition in 2008. Richard became interested in documenting the shops and the faces in them when chain supermarkets and food outlets started to move in. During the process of taking the portraits Richard became aware of the fascinating stories of each individual shop and the people in them. Before the exhibition he recorded interviews with many of the sitters about their own histories and life on the Street. The preface and interviews were edited by Mary-Ann Baldwin.
